The Perfect Recipe For A Halal Full English

The appeal of the full English breakfast is not hard to see at all. That smorgasbord of hearty ingredients served up smells and looks divine. Unfortunately, many Muslims think there is no way for them to enjoy it thanks to the fact that a few of the central products are haram. However, you can enjoy a halal full English, staying true to your values without having to sacrifice unnecessarily. Here’s a recipe to follow.

Ingredients per person

  • 2 halal sausages
  • 2-3 rashers of halal turkey bacon
  • 2 flat mushrooms
  • 1 ripe tomato
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice of bread

Cooking directions

Heat the grill plate over a low heat, applying a light brush of olive oil. Not too much, or you may end up making it all too greasy.

Start with the sausages. Most halal sausages are frozen, so you may need to look at the instructions and potentially oven cook them instead of frying.

Place the turkey bacon directly onto the grill plate and fry for about 2-4 minutes or until they’re as crispy as you prefer. Place the sausages and bacon on a lightly heated plate in the oven while you continue to cook.

Use a pastry brush to clean any remaining dirt from mushrooms and give them a quick rinse before trimming off the stalk. Place them stalk side up on the grill plate or pan and drizzle in a little bit of olive oil. Cook for 1-2 minutes, before turning them and cooking for another 2-4 minutes.

Cut the tomatoes across the center and remove the green middle. Season with salt and pepper and cook them cut side down for 2 minutes. Turn and cook for another two minutes until they’re a little crispy around the edges.

Fry your bread in a separate pan over a medium heat and drizzled with oil. 2-3 minutes of cooking on each side should make the bread golden and crispy.

Break the egg directly into the pan after you have removed the bread and leave it for thirty seconds. Turn from time to time with a fish slice, ensure it’s fully cooked.

Making sure it’s halal

The pork products are the primary concern of most Muslims when wanting to make a full English breakfast. You can buy halal sausages online, however, that are certified and made from chicken, lamb, or beef. Furthermore, turkey bacon is permissible, too, so buy halal turkey bacon online from Frozen Halal if you can’t have a full English without those rashers. While all eggs are permissible, you may feel more comfortable finding those that fit the Halal standard. Remember, it’s not just about whether it’s allowed, you want to make sure you’re eating quality product!

There you have it, a halal full English that doesn’t demand that you sacrifice your values for a delicious breakfast. Once you’ve tried it and seen what all the fuss is about, this is certain to become a regular morning meal for you and your family.
