3 Ways To Give Your Qurbani This Year

Not only can you give your Qurbani around the world, now you can give to those in need right in the UK

Not only can you give your Qurbani around the world, now you can give to those in need right in the UK

“It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him…” – The Holy Quran (22:37)

It’s that time of the year again and Muslims are flocking to find the perfect animal to participate in the religious duty of Qurbani. Qurbani, or Udhiyah as it known in Arabic, is the word often used to describe the act of sacrifice of an animal during the period of Eid ul Adha, and is an act of worship and devotion to God.

On Eid ul-Adha, the celebration to mark the finality of the sacred Hajj pilgrimage, the Muslim world recalls and remembers the tradition of the Prophet Ibrahim or Abraham (Alaihi Salaam).  They do this by sacrificing an animal as on offering for the sake of Allah and donating the meat to the poor and needy. To make your life easier, and your Qurbani the most effective one yet we’ve compiled 3 ways to maximise and ensure your Qurbani is meeting those that need it the most.

1. Simply Pay £29: Fulfil your obligation of Qurbani, and it gets delivered to those most in need

Our one simple price of £29 ensures your Qurbani is sourced from trusted farmers and supplied to those most in need. In 2018, make Eid ul-Adha extra special for those living in food poverty and hunger. From Asia, Middle-East and Africa, Penny Appeal is working across the world to ensure those living in poverty are supplied with your Qurbani and it is delivered at their convenience. One Qurbani donation can provide over 57 nutritious meals, and supply meat for those that have limited access to it throughout the year.

2. Revive the Sacred Sunnah: Give Qurbani the way the Holy Prophet (SAW) used to

The Sunnah of social consciousness and being aware of those who are less fortunate extended to all parts of our Prophet’s way and lifestyle. Our beloved Prophet would spend his nights praying for his Ummah, his life inviting all to truth and treating everyone with fairness and love including animals. So it should be no surprise that the Messenger of God, Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) during the sacred time of Dhull Hijjah, specifically the celebration of Eid ul-Adha would partake in sacred acts of devotion and sacrifice.

Remembering and commemorating the sacrifice of his forefather Prophet Ibrahim (as), our Prophet would offer his Qurbani and then offer another on behalf of his Ummah and those that could not afford to do it themselves. Simply give one Qurbani and then add another on behalf of someone else. Remember your intention counts!

3. Qurbani In The UK: Charity starts at home, so give your Qurbani to those that need it most in the UK

This year with Penny Appeal, not only can you give your Qurbani around the world, you can give to those in need right in the UK. Your sacrifice will help to ensure that families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet are not forgotten.

Your Qurbani at Home contribution will be distributed to poor families, the homeless community and refugees. For just £159, you can help make sure those struggling in the UK are not left isolated from Eid festivities this year. Penny Appeal’s Qurbani At Home programme provides high-quality fresh lamb to families and individuals in the United Kingdom, who are facing difficulties and strife so that they know they are not forgotten at this time of festivities. This year we have launched Qurbani at Home to give donors the chance to “give back” in their own communities
