Once again this year Orison Charitable Trust have set themselves the target of distributing 5000 iftar parcels and with your help would like to reach their target by the beginning of Ramadan to allow their teams on the ground organize the logistics and distribution.
Each iftar parcel costs £30 ($45). This covers iftar for a family of 5 for the entire month of Ramadan.

It’s as simple as that!
It was narrated that Zayd ibn Khaalid al-Juhani said: The Messenger of Allah said:
“Whoever gives iftar to one who is fasting will have a reward like his (the person he is giving iftar to), without that detracting from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.”
In 2010, Sheikh Mujahid Shariff along with a team of well-wishers visited Afghanistan on behalf of Orison Charitable Trust. In conjunction with Comfort Aid International they contributed and participated in the first ever mass-marriage ceremony organized in Afghanistan. Fifty deserving couples, who could not afford to get married were supported with $500 each. $50 was contributed towards their marriage costs (including walima) and the remaining $450 went towards furnishing an apartment for the couple with the basic necessities required to start their new lives together (including a bed, kitchen utensils etc).
On the same trip, Orison distributed iftar parcels in Ramadan to families who were most in need. Since 2010 Orison has expanded the same project across the world, in the various areas that it operates, including:
- Burma
- Thailand
- Bangladesh
- Afghanistan
- Pakistan
- Iraq
- Iran
- Bosnia
- Kenya
- Uganda
- Tanzania
- South Africa
It started originally with 200 iftar parcels in 2010 in Afghanistan. The next year they distributed 400, the following year 800 and in 2014, OCT successfully distributed 2000 iftar parcels and last year they reached their target of 5,000 parcels to people in various countries around the world!
