A Little Reminder for the Believer

May Allah remove the qualities that He dislikes in us, may Allah make us sincere and obedient, and may we be one of those people who are dear to Allah. Ameen!

May Allah remove the qualities that He dislikes in us, may Allah make us sincere and obedient, and may we be one of those people who are dear to Allah. Ameen!

In the hopes of bringing a smile or sense of peace to all my brothers and sisters in Islam, here is a small reminder of the love we receive from Allah.

You know Allah loves us more than anyone in this world. More than anyone. And yet we often beg for people’s attention, people’s care, people’s love, and everything.

But remember: the One who created you, who gave you a soul, who gave you breath that you take, the One who created the whole world; universe, galaxies, stars, clouds, rain, oceans, mountains, insects, human beings, and many infinite things that we don’t even know that exist in the world – He loves you.

Why would you beg for the attention of people, their love and all, when the One Who has millions of people worshiping Him, millions of animals worshipping Him, loves you?

The ones who spend (for Allah’s sake) in prosperity and adversity, and those who control anger and forgive people. And Allah loves those.”

Quran, 3:134

When a person gets successful, they oftentimes become busy, some become greedy, some become arrogant, and some become disrespectful towards the people who are below them. But the One who gives success to everyone, the One who gives food, the One who will just say ‘Kun’ and its done, He has time for you! Isn’t it amazing?

When we ask people a favor, they become proud and they change their personality. But the One who has treasures and when we ask Him – even a big thing from it – He will tell us to ask more. He loves that you ask him, He loves that you worship Him even though He has millions of angels praying Him, and He still loves the one dua that you make.

It’s very hard to please people. Very hard. But if you are kind with someone, that’s it – He is happy for you. He is pleased with your kindness; He likes you when you do something for Him. Even if it is the smallest thing. People don’t forgive you if you do a mistake. But He will. He is Raheem. His praises cannot be defined at all, as it is mentioned in Qur’an Sura: 31 Verse: 26.

He is going to forgive you if you repent sincerely. Not only that, but He also wants to give you Jannah! Who will offer you even a flower for being kind or controlling yourself, or being respectful? And here; the Creator of everything is offering you Jannah for these qualities you have.

Imagine you are going to get a house, that’s huge, made of pearls, there are rivers flowing beneath, there are gardens, there are angels, there are people to serve you, you get the most delicious food, you can do whatever you want. Isn’t it beyond beautiful and amazing?

And it is not [possible] for one to die except by permission of Allah at a decree determined. And whoever desires the reward of this world – We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter – We will give him thereof. And we will reward the grateful.”

Quran, 3:145

He does everything for us, if we are sincere, He forgives us, if we will ask Him anything He will give us, if not now then in akhirah if it’s better for us. See, He doesn’t even disappoint you – He will give it if it is better for you in this dunia or else in Akhirah. And yet you are busy in pleasing this dunia. Yet you beg for people’s attention, love, and care. You crave appreciation when you have Al-Wadood Who loves you the most.

What He gave us can never be repaid by our infinite sujoods. The only way we can thank Him is by being thankful, by doing as He says. And He loves the ones who are thankful to Him. And He also loves the ones who are thankful. The way He is merciful and graceful is something you don’t find in this world. Don’t degrade yourself for this dunia, don’t fall into Shaytaan’s trap. Just remind yourself how merciful, loving, caring, and forgiving Allah is. And please, remind others too.

May Allah make it easier for all of us to follow the straight path as He has shown to us. May Allah remove the qualities that He dislikes in us, may Allah make us sincere and obedient, and may we be one of those people who are dear to Allah. Ameen!
