Lady Fatemah Trust – annual gala dinner on 6th June 2015

About the organisation

The Lady Fatemah Trust is a non-profit, non-governmental and faith-based humanitarian organisation whose mission is to empower the world’s poorest to lift them out of poverty with dignity. We believe that the eradication of poverty is not only a matter of conscience; it is a prerequisite for the security and prosperity of humanity at large and that freedom from poverty is a fundamental human right.
One of the founding principles of the charity is to operate on the basis of zero administration fee and to ensure that every penny donated goes directly to those in need, thereby avoiding any wastage. The Trust has been in existence for over 17 years.

As ever, the evening will feature a keynote address, entertainment, unique auction items, dedicated stalls to give you a deeper insight into our projects, a fantastic 3 course meal and a chance to once again make a change..

Our keynote speaker for this year will be Dame Claire Bertschinger. Claire has had a long standing connection with international aid and development commencing with relief work in Ethiopia in 1984. Claire has also worked as a nurse with the Red Cross and has assisted efforts across the globe. Claire is currently the patron of The African Children’s Education Trust and therefore has passion for many of the projects LFT are involved with. Claire will deliver a powerful address at this year’s Gala Dinner and will present a unique insight into her story over the last 30+ years. We are sure her story will move you.

We are also excited to host an exciting comedienne, Sadia Azmat. Sadia has performed around the world as well as at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, on the BBC and has been short-listed as a finalist for the prestigious “Funny Woman” award.

Our main agenda for the night will be to raise money for projects promoting the use of renewable energy by deprived strata of society, especially the provision of solar panels and cookers to light homes and cook food without any cost. Other main focuses include orphan sponsorship, education of medical students and provision of micro-finance opportunities.

Tickets can be purchased directly from buytickets.at/theladyfatemahcharitabletrust. Remember to bring your friends, neighbours, colleagues and especially those who have not come across the LFT before. See below poster for more details.
