A new report by the law firm Appleby, published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, has revealed that Israel is behind the sale of highly sophisticated spy planes, worth billions of dollars, to the UAE.

According to the report the talks for this secret deal began more than 10 years ago, with the deal amounting to more than $3 billion. Israel had attempted to disguise the deal under the guise of an Israeli businessman, now named as Mate Kochavi, who would make the sale to the high ranking UAE officials. It is now known that top UAE political members were a part of this deal, with a large amount of the payment apparently paid in cash.

The UAE has already received one spy aircraft, and has already begun flight practice in preparation for the UAE Army to use it in full starting next year. The secret deal between Israel and the UAE included a total of two fully functioning spy aircrafts. The second aircraft’s location or status is yet unknown.

In a report published by the Tony Blair Institute last year, shocking statistics showed that Israel has an annual average trade of up to $1 billion with the Arab Gulf states, along with its intelligence sharing commitments with the US and Saudi Arabia in regards to what they consider the Iran threat in the region.

As the secretive relationship between Israel and Arab states such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia become more apparent, it is time for Muslims around the world to hold states such as those in the Arab Gulf responsible for the rise in human rights abuses, Islamophobia, and war-mongering.
