The nominations for the 2019 National Muslim Mental Health Awards are now open, and anyone can submit a potential candidate for this prestigious award. The award ceremony will take place on the 21st of December at the Alif Institute Science of Spirituality conference, a day-long event that will host numerous speakers and topics on mental well-being and spirituality as well as the final awards ceremony.
Nominees should have a high level of understanding in public mental health and well-being, and should also have a population approach to promoting mental health, preventing mental illness, or improving the lives of people with mental illness. The candidates should be a qualified counsellor, psychologist, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, mental health practitioner, or a chaplain. Finally, they should have worked in their respective field for at least two years either professionally or at a volunteering capacity.
Anyone can submit a nomination until the 1st of December, and choose a specific award from 8 different categories, ranging from the Anna Freud Award for Outstanding Work with Children to the the Al-Rumi Award for Outstanding Work in Spirituality.
