Upon hearing the news of Imam Hussain’s imminent martyrdom, residents from the town of Twereej, in the outskirts of Karbala, ran towards the Imam’s tents with the aim of answering his call:
“Is there anyone to help me?”Ā
1,400 years later, millions of lovers of the family of the Prophet Muhammad replicate that run, as a show of loyalty, love and devotion to preserving the religion of Islam and the stand that Imam Hussain took on the 10th of Muharram.
