Although there might have been a show of a prisoner exchange between Israel and Palestine, the fact remains that Palestinians are still being arrested every day and held unfairly, without trial in many cases, throughout Israel’s prisons. Many of these Palestinian prisons are also children.

Here are just 8 facts on Palestinians held in Israeli prisons:

At least 750,000 Palestinians have been arrested by Israel and held in prison since 1967.

There were at least 5,200 Palestinians who were in Israeli prisons before October 7th, 2023.

3,000 arrests have been made by Israel since the 7th of October. 145 of these arrests were Palestinian children, 95 were women, and 37 were journalists.

According to a list published by Israel, the youngest child held in prison is 14 years old.

At least 700 children under the age of 18 from the occupied West Bank are prosecuted every year through Israeli military courts.

1,310 Palestinians are imprisoned without charge or trial as of September 2023, which includes 146 minors.
