Social media will always fight back!
Activist Linda Sarsour, one of the organisers of the Women’s March on Washington, was hit by a wave of hate from conservative websites, such as The Daily Caller. The march drew some 500,000 people and with the success of such a powerful movement the day after President Trump’s inauguration, the only way they knew to fight back was through hate filled and defamatory headlines on the activist. This all came less than 48 hours after the march took place.
Watch Sarsour’s speech from the Washington, D.C. march below.
[youtube id=”DnaT8JxUTY0″]Sarsour posted a heartfelt plea on Facebook for her family and friends to remember her with “extra prayers” against the attacks that she was facing as a result of her role in the movement. But people refused to have it and Twitter has decided to turn back the tide with #IMarchWithLinda, showing their support for her and the work she does. Here are some of our favourites:
#IMarchWithLinda because if the #FakePresident's trolls go after you then you know you're doing something right.
