Israel’s Calculated Attack On Gaza: Children and Women Among Those Killed As They Slept

In a television address, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated: “This round is not over. We see you everywhere. You can’t hide and we choose the place and time to strike you.”

Israel’s bombardment and air strikes on Gaza reaches its fourth day after “Operation Shield and Arrow”, as dubbed by the Israeli army, began on Tuesday, the 9th of May.

As of Thursday the 11th of May, at least 25 Palestinians have been killed – this includes at least five women and five children, many of whom were killed in their sleep during night raids. Around 70 others are critically injured – although this number is expected to rise.

Mayar, 11, and her brother Ali, eight, the children of Tareq Ibrahim Ezz el-Din, were two of the children killed during a night raid on Tuesday. The children’s school, which had been planning a school field trip the next day, canceled the event and posted to their Facebook page: “In this sad morning that our steadfast Strip is witnessing, and with grieving hearts, the Pioneers and Leaders School bids farewell to two of its innocent students, who were martyred as a result of the Zionist violent bombing of the Gaza Strip.”

Another innocent woman who was killed was Dania Adas, who is survived by her fiance Muhammed Saad. Muhammed told reporters, “I still cannot imagine that she is gone. We were talking about our wedding just a few minutes before she died. We wanted to have two children. She dreamed about our wedding and even chose our first son’s name. She wanted to name him after my father, Sameh. This is a nightmare.” Muhammed and Dania, just days before she was killed, had even changed their Facebook names to Abu Sameh (father of Sameh) and Om Sameh (mother of Sameh).

As of now, there has been no ceasefire – although precedence shows that Israel will have little regard for a ceasefire as it continues to bombard Gaza and kill innocent Palestinians. Several locations across Gaza, including Rafah, Khan Younis, and Beit Lahia, are being specifically targeted by the Israeli army.

In a television address, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated: “This round is not over. We see you everywhere. You can’t hide and we choose the place and time to strike you.”

It remains to be seen for how long this attack on Gaza will continue – as much of the world remains silent on the deaths of those innocent killed.
