As Israel continues to bomb Gaza, the atrocities and the terrifyingly open acts of apartheid continue to shock the world as Palestinian civilians reach their limit.

Here are a few statistics as of 5 PM on the 13th of October, as reports continue to come in of destruction and utter terror faced by the innocent.

  • The Palestinian death toll has surpassed 1,799. 60% of these deaths have been women and children. More than 583 children have been killed (that have been accounted for), and more than 351 women have been killed.
  • At least 6,600 Palestinian civilians have been wounded from Israel’s bombardment of residential buildings and refugee camps. This includes 1,900 children and more than 1,005 women.
  • Israel has imposed a total blockade on Gaza – with no power, water, or fuel. Israel’s Energy Minister, Israel Katz, has said this will continue until Israeli hostages are returned.
  • Human Rights Watch has concluded that Israel has used white phosphorus against civilians in Lebanon and Gaza, verifying the videos on Tuesday and Wednesday. White phosphorus has the effect of causing severe burns, and HRW has stated that the use of white phosphorus “magnifies the risk to civilians and violates the international humanitarian law”.
  • The World Health Organization has documented 34 attacks on healthcare centers and hospitals in Gaza since last Saturday, with 11 health workers killed so far, and damages to 19 health facilities and 20 ambulances. The WHO has warned that the health system in the Gaza Strip is “at breaking point”.
  • Around 340,000 Palestinians have been displaced within the Gaza Strip, as Israel continues to bomb civilian areas.
  • Israel has ordered all 1.1. million Gazans to leave their homes and move south within 24 hours. This is the biggest nakba – or forced displacement – since 1948.

As Israel continues to block all aid, fuel, power, and water to the besieged Gaza – as always – it is civilians and those most innocent who will continue to suffer and lose their lives.
